GOODWILL | SUSTAINABILITY

A social enterprise before the term existed, Goodwill works wonders at the intersection of sustainability and career pathing. Each year, it keeps more than 15,000 tons of gently-used items from ending up in landfills. It then remarkets them to fund career training and placement programs, creating economic stability for millions of Americans. But material donations are the fuel that keeps this engine running.

To maintain that fuel supply, we were enlisted to examine the audience’s relationship to household clutter and encourage letting go of perfectly viable things for one’s own good. This led to a lighthearted but revealing commentary on the drivers of more frequent purging. And that led to an 11% increase in material donations.
