It’s been called the next American crisis. Exposed by the pandemic and “great resignation” that followed, long-existing fissures in our child care system have been stressed to a breaking point. This has left millions of families in paralysis. Consequently, it has also rallied a host of change makers. ABC Quality is one whose roots lie in advancing early childhood development and resources like quality child care ratings for parents.

Elevating the early care and education field to its proper place in our culture is no simple task, but the organization doubled down in 2021, enlisting us to help them be a voice for parents and providers alike. Granting financial assistance to get more families the care they need and extending best-practice curriculums and capacity-building funds for providers, the work has helped garner a 13% increase in participating providers and more than 65,000 child care scholarships.
